I am someone who takes comfort and pleasure in eating WHOLE foods . If you are health conscious this concept is not new, but if you are new on the health scene and just want to know where to start and how people do it let me help. Eating the right foods is simple. Yes really it’s EASY. A whole food is most simply put an unprocessed food. This means if it comes from the earth and is God made NOT man made then it is safe to eat. Examples would include vegetables, leafy greens, fruits, nuts and other natural food. Processed food is manufactured and has dozens of ” ingredients ” that are not decipherable to your average person reading the back of the label. In Fact the very best foods that fuel your body do not have ingredient labels. So the next time you hit the market grab vibrant healthful foods that will fuel your body. Skip the food that has a shelf life.
When cooking a meal for yourself or your family don’t underestimate the power of substitutions. I like apps such as Pinterest & Epicurious but the recipes aren’t always health conscious. If a recipe calls for mayo and easy substitute is non fat non flavored greek yogurt.
If you are baking and a recipe requires flour try making your own ALMOND flour. It is really simple and has many more health benefits the white flour.
Simply put 1-3 cups of whole almonds in your blender and Blitz. With in a few minutes those solid almonds will become a light powder or FLOUR and your baking is off to a healthy start.
